Gerry Knight
Gerry was born in 1965 in Melbourne, Australia. With her burning desire to be an artist, she achieved both teaching and art degrees. After juggling teaching and art exhibiting for many years, she finally realised her dream to work solely as an artist. Her love of movement and intense colour is realised in both her paintings and original linocuts.
Gerry currently works full time as a painter and printmaker in her studio. Her linocuts are produced by the reduction method, as done by Picasso.
Her work is held in private collections in Australia, Italy, Sweden and USA.
“I am profoundly moved by colour, often a whole subject of a painting can be based around a colour inspiration and I cannot get it on the canvas quickly enough.”
