Susan Coburn
Since turning 19 years old Susan has been fortunate enough to have travelled to many parts of the world and lived for a time in England and Spain. She studied art as a mature aged student and has been painting and teaching for the past thirty years.
Interpreting ‘the line’ or mark has always been at the core of her work in whichever medium she works, be it collage, acrylic, mixed media or now in encaustic wax paintings. The horizontal horizon line is the first mark to be made.
Susan has taught Life Drawing, Acrylic Painting and Collage since 2002 at Wallace House Arts & Craft centre, Noosa.
Susan now facilitates a small group of women, weekly at her Muddy Waters studio at Boreen Point. Susan has also taught at the Cooroy Butter factory and run many workshops including those at the Toowoomba winter school.
